Key developments for Chevron Corp. (CVX)

Chevron Corp. to Invest in Prospecting in Russia

Chevron Corp. is prepared to increase investments in prospecting for oil reserves in Russia. The company executives confirmed their interest in further cooperation with Russian state-controlled companies.

Chevron Mulls Acquisitions

Pat Yarrington, Chief Financial Officer of Chevron Corp. said that the company would only seek mergers and acquisitions that add scale and fit strategically with the rest of the company. “We're not looking for small things because that really wouldn't move the needle on a company like Chevron. It's an arrow in our quiver. And we tend to keep balance sheet strength that would allow us to take on opportunities should they make themselves available,” Pat Yarrington said. She added, “You're getting much more of a true marketplace for assets, so I think you will see a lot more buying and selling of assets going forward.”
