March 06--FOX 26 KNPN announced recently that it will upgrade its over-the-air signal this week and in the future to broadcast all its networks in high definition.
KNPN's lineup includes FOX, NewspressNOW, The CW and the Spanish-language network Telemundo. Currently, only FOX is broadcast in high definition, but The CW will upgrade to high definition sometime late tonight or early Thursday morning.
NewspressNOW and Telemundo will be upgraded in the next few weeks.
For Suddenlink and other cable television and satellite viewers (including DirectTV and Dish Network), the upgrade will not change the channel designation in the service's lineup.
Here are the channel assignments for over-the-air antenna reception after the initial high-definition upgrades: FOX 26.1; NewspressNOW 26.2; Telemundo 26.3; The CW 16.1.
Here are the antenna channel assignments after the high-definition upgrades are complete: FOX 26.1, NewspressNOW 26.2, The CW 21.1, Telemundo 30.1.
To find the new channels, antenna viewers will simply need to rescan their digital converters or televisions to automatically add the networks.
