Keynote Address by Ingredion CFO Cheryl Beebe
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 5, 2013-- The Chicago chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI-Chicago) will hold its annual Investor Relations Workshop on Monday, September 9 at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile, 633 N. St. Clair St., Chicago.
This year's workshop, “Expanding Horizons,” brings together world-class experts to address how companies communicate with investors and other stakeholders. Sessions will cover how executives can build their organizational influence, communication considerations in a 24-hour world, the tug of war between disclosure requirements and transparency, executive compensation issues, and capital allocation and cash management strategies. The event allows ample time for networking with peers and learning about the latest resources from exhibitors.
“Our annual workshop is designed to update NIRI-Chicago members and guests on key issues and provide information that they can apply every day,” said Larry Larsen, chair of this year's IR Workshop. “While our organization serves investor relations officers who speak directly to Wall Street, the issues we face are relevant to any financial, legal or communication expert who communicates with the key stakeholders of a public company.”
The keynote luncheon speaker will be Cheryl K. Beebe, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ingredion Incorporated (NYSE: INGR), a provider of global ingredients such as nature-based sweeteners, starches and nutrition ingredients for foods, cosmetics, agri-products and more. Beebe will present her views on the role of IR professionals in shaping the corporate narratives that drive shareholder value, based on her perspective as both a CFO and corporate director/audit committee chair.
NIRI-Chicago's IR Workshop and luncheon are open to the public and attract attendees from throughout the Midwest. The event begins at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 with registration, breakfast and an exhibitor showcase. The formal program begins at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $150 for NIRI-Chicago members and $200 for non-members.
The fee is $60 for nonmembers who wish to attend the luncheon only. There is no fee for NIRI-Chicago members who attend the luncheon only from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. More information is available on the NIRI-Chicago website and on the event registration page.
