Oct. 10--The first Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop in Singapore is scheduled to open Saturday by franchisee Star360 Group.
Krispy Kreme announced in October 2012 that the franchisee will open 15 shops in the country over five years.
Krispy Kreme has set a goal of having at least 900 international shops by the end of its fiscal year 2017.
Krispy Kreme has franchisee shops in the United States and 22 other countries: Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. The company also has a franchisee in Puerto Rico, a U.S. commonwealth.
Krispy Kreme also has a goal of more than 400 domestic shops by the end of fiscal 2017. It had 240 shops as of August.
