BRIEF: AT&T filling 230 jobs in South Florida [Sun Sentinel :: ]

July 15--AT&T is hiring to fill more than 230 jobs in South Florida, including call center, retail and wire technician positions. Most of the jobs are newly created positions, AT&T spokesperson Kelly Layne Starling said Monday.

About 75 openings are for retail and wire technician positions in Davie, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter.

More than 100 positions are available in the company's Miami call center.

AT&T has hired more than 570 employees in South Florida in the first half of 2014, including more than 200 in Broward and Palm Beach counties, Starling said.

The hiring has been spurred by AT&T's Project Velocity, a three-year plan to expand the company's IP broadband networks to support increased demand.
