Three new retailers coming to Classen Curve [The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City :: ]

Aug. 08--Three new tenants will open at Classen Curve, shopping center owner Glimcher Realty Trust said Thursday.

The new tenantss include high-end accessories retailer Kendra Scott, clothing boutique chain the Impeccable Pig, and Aveda and Monroe Salon Spa. All three are expected to open at Classen Curve by year's end.

Austin-based Kendra Scott has 13 stores that sell high-end fashion jewlelry and other accessories. Kendra Scott accessories also are sold at department stores including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and about 1,000 specialty boutiques worldwide, according to the the company's website.

Dallas-based retailer The Impeccable Pig has 12 stores across Texas and the southeastern United States that carry women's clothing and accessories.

The three tenants will take up a combined 16,750-square-feet of space at the Classen Curve shopping center, Glimcher spokeswoman Karen Bailey said.

"We have been extremely pleased by the amount of interest from retailers and restaurateurs looking to expand into the Oklahoma City and Nichols Hills communities," Michael Glimcher, chairman and CEO of Glimcher Realty Trust, said in a statement. "We are focused on adding premium local and national brands unique to the market and continuing to add density within the properties."

New leadership

Glimcher has also named David Allsbrooks to the role of general manager for Classen Curve, The Triangle at Classen Curve, and Nichols Hills Plaza shopping centers. His responsibilities include operations, maintenance, marketing and community relations for the retail properties.

Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust purchased the shopping centers in a joint venture with Oklahoma City's Blanton Property Co. for $51.8 million in March.

"Most recently, David served as the head of operations for one of our premier centers in Ohio, and we believe he is an ideal choice to facilitate the integration of these centers into the Glimcher portfolio," Glimcher said.

Allsbrooks joined Glimcher in 2011, serving as director of operations at River Valley Mall in Lancaster, Ohio, before becoming director of operations for Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus, Ohio. He also spent four years serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and attended Ohio State University.
