Sunday Business Notebook: New wing of St. Johns Town Center starts taking shape [The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville :: ]

Aug. 24--Work continues on the new phase of St. Johns Town Center with permits issued last week for Yankee Candle ($120,000, 1,438 square feet, Alliance Retail Construction) and Boston Proper ($293,321, 2,453 square feet, Fred Olivieri Construction.)

The eight smaller stores in the new wing are scheduled to open Oct. 8 with the anchor, Nordstrom, opening on Oct. 10. The grand opening for the entire wing will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 11.


Another Broken Egg is building its first Jacksonville restaurant at 4828 W. Deer Lake Drive in Tapestry Park. The chain is based in Miramar Beach and serves breakfast, lunch and brunch. The permit for the build-out was issued last week: $356,833, 2,642 square feet, TWT Restaurant Design Construction & Development.

The owners of the franchise have said they plan to open three or four restaurants in the area.


Rethreaded, a nonprofit which helps those affected by the sex trade, has moved into a new retail/warehouse space at 820 Barnett St. and will hold a celebration of the new space on Saturday, Sept. 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Jacksonville Beach office of Money Concepts Wealth Management has changed its name to Dodds Wealth Advisors.

Tire Kingdom has opened a new location at 9628 Argyle Forest Blvd., with grand opening celebrations going on through Monday.

Earth Fare opened its first Jacksonville store last week, and the natural foods market continues to grow. Lucky's Market, which specializes in organic, local and gluten-free food, is opening its first Florida store in Gainesville in November at 1459 N.W. 23rd Ave.

121 Financial Credit Union has opened its newest location at 3475 Kernan Blvd. S.

Tats LLC, a new tattoo parlor owned by Eric Labadie, has opened at 2620 Blanding Blvd. in Middleburg.

1402 San Marco Blvd., turning into Kitchen on San Marco, $617,005, 4,533 square feet, P&C Construction. As reported last week, the restaurant will be owned and operated by Virginia College's culinary school.

Demolish single-family home at 4454 Beverly Ave., and bookstore at 4265 Roosevelt Blvd. to make way for a new Starbucks, Cross Construction Services. The two properties sold last year for a total of $662,000.

4441 Wesconnett Blvd., alterations to existing building for Acclaim Academy, $400,000, 44,000 square feet, Braughton Construction.

1251 King St., plumbing for move of Riverside Liquors from Park Street, $22,500, 6,500 square feet, Prism Design & Construction.

4500 San Pablo Road, renovate conference room at Mayo Clinic, $246,504, 1,440 square feet, Danis Construction.

8618 Cathedral Oaks Place W., new single-family home, $1,150,000, 8,513 square feet, Castle Ridge Builders. The vacant 1.63-acre riverfront lot off San Jose Boulevard sold last year for $1.25 million.

BH Management Services of Des Moines, Iowa, paid $8.3 million for The Park at Regency Apartments, 1251 Beacon Point Drive, and $5.5 million for Colonial Forest Apartments, 5918 Firestone Road.

Full Source LLC of Jacksonville paid $1.35 million for two warehouse condos at 10302 Deerwood Park Blvd.

185 Landrum Lane LLC of Jacksonville Beach paid $620,000 for a 3,473-square-foot office building at 411 Pablo Ave., Jacksonville Beach.

Spirit Capital Realty of Scottsdale, Ariz., paid $2,595,635 for the 7,160-square-foot office medical building at 2726 St. Johns Ave. It was built in 1977 and last sold for $2 million in 2012.

BRE Newtown Hotels Property Owner LLC of New York paid $4,618,152 for the Residence Inn at 8365 Dix Ellis Trail.

Kassab Wholesale Furniture paid $500,000 for the 16,524-square-foot building at 5062 Beaver St. It was built in 1953 and last sold for $271,600 in 2002.

720 2nd St. N. LLC and 201 6th Ave. N. LLC of Jacksonville Beach paid $900,000 for three parcels at 728 Second St. N., 720 Second St. N. and 201 Sixth Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach., (904) 359-4296
