The Virginia Beach firm, owned by brothers Steve and Art Sandler, wanted to double the size of Shallotte with a 2,400-home, lush, Caribbean-style development. They built a grand sign to announce the San Rio community.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young has been dragged into a legal scrimmage over an industrial property he's been leasing in southwest Houston. Houston-based Weingarten Realty Investors has filed suit against Young, alleging he defaulted on the lease in May and then abandoned the space the following month.

You're never too old ... to rob a bank? A woman between 60 and 70 years old entered the Bank of America at 7644 Jefferson NE in the Journal Center and passed a note to a teller demanding money on Friday around 3:20 p.m. The woman also displayed a handgun, according to an FBI news release. She left with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured in the robbery.

Connections to two New York companies that are under investigation by federal agents were found in former Luzerne County human resources director Doug Richards' e-mails, county Solicitor Vito DeLuca said Friday. DeLuca found an Oct. 23, 2006 e-mail from Long Island-based B & M Investigations owner William Grub to Richards containing two documents -- a company letterhead and a blank invoice.

Bank of America moved this week to foreclose on one of bankrupt real-estate magnate Michael R. Mastro's most valuable properties, a new office building in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. In a notice filed with King County on Thursday, the bank said Mastro hasn't made payments since May on a loan he took out in 2007 to build 110,000-square-foot Lakeview at Fremont.
