The tight rope act is over for a mannequin balancing on an Interstate 93 billboard after 9-1-1 operators started fielding calls from people who thought they were looking at a suicidal jumper. The MBTA yesterday asked Clear Channel to remove the mannequin from a billboard located on the Somerville-Boston line for heating oil company Clickfil, said T spokesman Joe Pesaturo.

Long billboard battle near end; 110 will go [The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson]

Tucson and Clear Channel Outdoor Inc. have agreed to a deal to take down 110 billboards around the city, ending more than 20 years of litigation. The only thing left is for Superior Court Judge Carmine Cornelio to approve the settlement at a hearing Nov. 16. Two Clear Channel Outdoor representatives did not return calls for comment.

Council OKs billboard settlements with CBS, Clear Channel [Tampa Tribune, Fla.]

TAMPA -- The city has declared a truce in its lengthy battle with two billboard companies. Today, the city council approved settlements with CBS and Clear Channel Outdoors aimed at resolving a more than a decade of litigation over the number of billboards both companies can put up throughout the city and where they can put them.

BRIEF: Limbaugh jumps to new FM station [The News and Observer, Raleigh, N.C.]

Rush Limbaugh will soon have a new home in the Triangle. One of the first radio stations to broadcast the conservative icon's talk show, WPTF AM-680, is losing him Dec.31 after 21 years on the air. Curtis Media, the Raleigh company that owns WPTF, will fill the three hours vacated by Limbaugh with political talk that's more centrist and moderate, said Phil Zachary, Curtis president.

Limbaugh is leaving WSJS for FM station [Winston-Salem Journal, N.C.]

Rush Limbaugh is changing channels. Starting Jan. 1, Limbaugh's hit radio show will move from WSJS 600-AM, where it has been the station's highest-rated program, to 94.5 WGBT-FM in Greensboro. WGBT is currently La Preciosa, a Spanish-language station. Some programming from La Preciosa will continue to be broadcast online and on HD radio, station representatives said.

WDAE sports host Dan Sileo remains suspended; investigation ongoing [Tampa Tribune, Fla.]

Outspoken sports radio host Dan Sileo remains on suspension from WDAE, 620 AM, for remarks he made last week about the finances of the Glazer family, owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A station official said today that an internal review of the incident is still under way.
