D2 Technologies and Alcatel-Lucent Complete Interoperability Testing of VoLTE and RCS
Dec 15 14
D2 Technologies and Alcatel-Lucent announced the successful completion of interoperability testing of key elements of the VoLTE and RCS IMS profiles with both the native and downloadable versions of D2's mCUE® 4G client software. The mCUE 4G software client, paired with Alcatel-Lucent'sIMS infrastructure, gives service providers optimized and interoperable VoLTE and RCS functionality to more quickly and efficiently commercialize advanced IMS capabilities on 4G LTE networks. D2 Technologies has demonstrated the proof of concept and shown how IP-based communications such as RCS, VoLTE (IR.92), VoWiFi, and IR.94 video calling can be seamlessly combined with traditional GSM CS and SMS communications to deliver on the GSMA's so-called "Green Button Promise." D2 Technologies' mCUE 4G embedded software implements these rich-call and rich-messaging features natively in mobile handsets for a completely seamless user experience.

Alcatel-Lucent SA to Deploy 4G LTE and IP Networking Solutions Throughout Scandinavia
Dec 9 14
Alcatel-Lucent SA announced that it will deploy 4G LTE and IP networking solutions throughout Scandinavia for AINMT Holdings AB. The company will initially roll-out a complete mobile broadband access network one of the first in the 450 MHz spectrum band for ice.net in Norway, Net 1 in Sweden and Denmark to enhance services for customers. The new 4G LTE network will allow AINMT and its subsidiaries to meet the growing demand for high-speed, high-capacity data services in the region. The network will be rolled out across Norway during 2015 as Alcatel-Lucent replaces a competitors' existing CDMA network with its 4G LTE solution. Alcatel-Lucent will also conduct trials of high-quality Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services with ice.net in order to prepare for market launch. Alcatel-Lucent will work with AINMT Holdings to roll-out one of the first LTE networks to operate in the 450 MHz band in Norway for AINMT's subsidiary ice.net. Services will later be expanded to the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands in the country. Alcatel-Lucent will deploy a comprehensive 4G LTE network using products and solutions to deliver and manage high-quality, high-speed broadband access to customers in Norway. These will include the company's: LTE Radio Access Network (RAN); Evolved Packet Core solution; IMS with VoLTE; and Alcatel-Lucent will provide solutions from its Motive portfolio, including operation support system (OSS) services such as installation, commissioning, network planning and maintenance. Beside the launch of services in Norway, Alcatel-Lucent will work with AINMT Holdings to roll-out LTE networks across Denmark and Sweden.

Alcatel-Lucent SA Announces Launch of New Hardware-Based Edge Routing Platform
Dec 2 14
Alcatel-Lucent SA has announced the launch of a hardware-based edge routing platform, the 7750 SR-a, to offer high density aggregation of mobile backhaul, business and residential services. Network operators face a significant challenge in terms of satisfying the appetite for high-bandwidth multimedia services while also simplifying and converging networks in order to streamline costs. By leveraging Alcatel-Lucent's FP3 400G Network Processor, the 7750 SR-a addresses this challenge, with a resilient platform that delivers scalability beyond its compact size. It allows providers to support the simultaneous delivery of mobile, business and residential services and creates new value through the delivery of innovative new services. With its comprehensive router portfolio - which recently expanded to include the Virtualized Service Router - Alcatel-Lucent is giving service providers both the specialized hardware and router software necessary to build a flexible network with the right performance and economics for the cloud era. With Gigabit Ethernet and 10GE density as well as 40GE and 100 GE interfaces - operators can scale aggregation networks smoothly to meet all of their customers' demands into the future. The 7750 SR-a enables a host of services: in addition to supporting Carrier Ethernet and IP services, the 7750 SR-a supports Enhanced Subscriber Management. Acting as a Broadband Network Gateway, it will allow providers to offer high-value differentiated services tailored to customer demands and usage patterns. The 7750 SR-a is available in two variants: the 4-slot 7750 SR-a4 offering 200G system throughput capacity; and the 8-slot 7750 SR-a8 offering 400G system throughput capacity. The 7750 SR-a offers support for a comprehensive suite of IP, MPLS, Ethernet and synchronization protocols allowing deployment in a wide range of IP and carrier Ethernet applications. Non-stop routing and non-stop services features ensure highly available service delivery, allowing operators to meet the stringent SLAs of large enterprise customers and its compact design allows operators to right-size deployments in 300 mm cabinets closer to the customer services edge within the metro network. The 7750 SR-a is powered by Alcatel-Lucent's Service Router Operating System (SR OS) and managed end-to-end by the 5620 Service Aware Manager (5620 SAM). As such it can be seamlessly deployed in a network alongside Alcatel-Lucent's other hardware based router portfolio as well as its newly announced Virtualized Service Router.
