Arden Group Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share of Class A Common Stock payable on July 19, 2013 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on June 28, 2013. As March 29, 2013, there were 3,071,000 Class A shares outstanding.

Arden Group Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 30, 2013. For the quarter, the company announced sales of $113,655,000 compared to $107,227,000 for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $7,343,000 compared to $4,897,000 for the same period a year ago. Income before income taxes was $7,348,000 compared to $4,920,000 for the same period a year ago. Net income was $4,354,000 compared to $2,916,000 for the same period a year ago. Basic and diluted net income per common share was $1.42 compared to $0.95 for the same period a year ago. Operating income in the first quarter of 2013 increased compared to the first quarter of 2012 as a result of higher sales, improved gross margins and a slight decrease in store expense as a percent of sales, as well as lower costs related to exit activities.

Arden Group Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 29, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported sales were $115.962 million, operating income was $9.901 million, income before income taxes was $9.912 million, net income was $6.033 million or $1.97 basic and diluted per share compared to sales were $114.503 million, operating income was $6.969 million, income before income taxes was $7.032 million, net income was $4.331 million or $1.41 basic and diluted per share for the same period last year. For the full year, the company reported sales were $439.038 million, operating income was $31.575 million, income before income taxes was $31.659 million, net income was $18.919 million or $6.16 basic and diluted per share compared to sales were $429.483 million, operating income was $26.122 million, income before income taxes was $28.423 million, net income was $17.005 million or $5.50 basic and diluted per share for the same period last year. The increase in operating income in 2012 was partially offset by increases in the UFCW health and welfare and pension contribution rates at various times throughout the past year.
