Citrix Announces Availability of NetScaler for Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switch
Apr 16 14
Citrix Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of Citrix NetScaler, a new cloud networking functionality, as a remote services blade for the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switch. This unique integration of NetScaler into the Nexus 7000 has been jointly developed between the two companies using the Cisco Remote Integrated Service Engine (RISE) technology. Once installed, NetScaler integrates an external appliance as if it were an embedded service module attached directly to the switch backplane in order to leverage the intelligence of the switch itself. This enables automated control, simplified deployment and an overall lower cost of operations while still delivering the standalone performance, availability and reliability of a best-in-class application delivery controller (ADC). The unique integration of NetScaler VPX, MPX, SDX and 1000V (distributed by Cisco) - each of which can act as a remote services blade of Nexus 7000 - will enable organizations to take advantage of the full power of NetScaler, but with the additional advantage that it will also be tightly coupled with any Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switch backplane. Powered by RISE technology, the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series and Citrix NetScaler product line will integrate together to optimize the management of policy-based routing for application delivery.

In response to the growing need for video collaboration tools, the company has launched three fully-integrated TelePresence systems that combine sleek, award-winning design with a simple and intuitive user experience, enabling people to share video and content in any kind of room. As part of the first phase of a multi-phase collaboration solutions rollout, all solutions will be generally available in the Middle East starting in May 2014.
