Delta Air Lines, Inc. to Launch Nonstop Seasonal Service to Liberia, Costa Rica

Delta Air Lines, Inc. announced that it will launch a nonstop seasonal service connecting Liberia, Costa Rica with Los Angeles and the airline's hubs in Minneapolis/St. Paul and New York-JFK. Additionally, seasonal service between San Jose and Minneapolis/St. Paul will be reinstated. Delta continues its expansion in Costa Rica, operating 40 weekly services during the peak season and connecting the cities of San Jose and Liberia with key destinations in the US. Delta Air Lines will also expand its service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic during the high demand season, including flights from Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul and New York-JFK. Punta Cana flights will be operated using Airbus A320 and Airbus A319 aircraft and will complement existing Delta service to this luxury Caribbean destination.
Delta Air Lines to Add New Service from Los Angeles to San Antonio and Dallas

Delta Air Lines announced that it will launch twice-daily nonstop service from Los Angeles to San Antonio, Texas, beginning April 7, 2015. The San Antonio service complements Delta's daily service from Los Angeles to Dallas, which launches Nov. 3, and the addition of a third daily flight between Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, beginning Nov. 2. All flights are operated by Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines. With the addition of San Antonio and Dallas service, Delta customers will have access to nine daily departures to three destinations between Los Angeles and Texas, including: Four daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; Three daily flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport; Two daily flights to San Antonio International Airport. For Texas customers, the new service also will provide more options when connecting to destinations in Delta's trans-Pacific portfolio from Los Angeles. This includes service to Tokyo-Haneda; Tokyo-Narita; and Sydney, as well as partner-operated service to Brisbane, Australia; Guangzhou, China; Shanghai; and Taipei.
TAP Being Eyed By Investors

Portugal's Economy Minister said his country is planning to sell off 49% stake of TAP-Transportes Aereos Portugueses, SGPS, S.A. by the end of 2014. Avianca Holdings S.A. (BVC:PFAVH), Air Europa Líneas Aéreas, S.A.U., Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S.A have expressed interest in the sale. Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL), Virgin Atlantic Ltd., Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft (DB:LHA) and International Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A. (LSE:IAG) have also been interested in TAP-Transportes Aereos Portugueses, SGPS, S.A. as per local press but none of them put forward proposals.
Delta Air to Launch Daily Nonstop Service Between Manchester and New York

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has announced that it will launch a daily nonstop service between Manchester International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport from June 2, 2015. The airline will also begin flying its first nonstop service between London-Heathrow and Newark Liberty International Airport effective March 29, 2015. Both routes will be operated in conjunction with joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic. Delta's new Newark operation is part of a network update by Virgin Atlantic where Delta will operate one of Virgin's two Newark services while Virgin Atlantic will start its first daily nonstop Manchester to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport service. This increase to the joint venture flying from Manchester will give customers access to more than 200 connecting destinations through Delta's Atlanta and New York-JFK hubs.

Delta Air Lines Inc. reported traffic results for the month and year to date ended August 2014. For the month, the company announced total RPMs of 20,034,476,000 against 19,437,965,000 a year ago. ASMs were 22,866,615,000 against 22,266,679,000 a year ago. Passenger load factor was 87.6% against 87.3% a year ago. Consolidated passenger unit revenue (PRASM) change year over year is 2.0%.
For the year to date, the company reported total RPMs of 137,938,799,000 against 132,721,448,000 a year ago. ASMs were 161,406,764,000 against 157,496,649,000 a year ago. Passenger load factor was 85.5% against 84.3% a year ago.
The company provided operating guidance for quarter ended September 2014. The company projected PRASM change year over year is 2% to 3%.
