Etablissements Delhaize Frères et Cie "Le Lion" (Groupe Delhaize) Société Anonyme (ENXTBR:DELB) has notified Serbia's Privatization Agency that the validity of its offer for the acquisition of a 16.26% stake in C Market AD (BELEX:CMAR) would not be extended. Etablissements Delhaize Frères et Cie "Le Lion" (Groupe Delhaize) Société Anonyme continues to own 75.4% of C-Market AD.
Delhaize Group Appoints Kevin Holt as Chief Executive for its North American Operations, Effective July 7, 2014

Delhaize Group has named Kevin Holt as chief executive for its North American operations, effective July 7, 2014. He will oversee Delhaize America. Holt was formerly president of retail operations at SuperValu Inc. He also will become a member of Delhaize Group's executive committee. The post has been vacant for roughly nine months after then-CEO Roland Smith resigned following a management shakeup. Since then, Delhaize America's operations, including Food Lion, have reported to Frans Muller, Delhaize Group's chief executive. Holt comes to Delhaize Group with more than 20 years of retail leadership experience in operations, strategy and information technology.

Delhaize Group announced the appointment of Kevin Holt as Chief Executive Officer for Delhaize America. Mr. Holt, formerly President of Retail Operations at SUPERVALU, will also become a member of the Delhaize Group Executive Committee. He will start effective July 7, 2014 and lead the Group's U.S. operations. Mr. Holt comes to Delhaize Group with more than 20 years of retail leadership experience in operations, strategy and information technology.
Alvo Eyes Delhaize's Stores In Flanders

Alvo Cvba is keen to acquire eight stores in Flanders from Etablissements Delhaize Frères et Cie "Le Lion" (Groupe Delhaize) Société Anonyme (ENXTBR:DELB), dailies Het Belang van Limburg and Gazet van Antwerpen reported. “We are steadily looking for opportunities to support our growth plans," Managing Director of Alvo Etienne Vanbosseghem said. Delhaize’s spokesman Roel Dekelver stated that a takeover is not under consideration for now. "We still believe in the commercial potential of the locations concerned," he said.
Delhaize Belgium Plans to Invest EUR 450 Million in its Stores; to Cut 2,500 Jobs

Delhaize Belgium announced its intention to implement major changes to its organization. The company plans to accelerate the implementation of its commercial strategy through an additional investment of EUR 450 million during the 2015-2017 period.
To enable the additional investment, the company is planning to take different measures, which could impact the jobs of 2,500 employees of Delhaize Belgium in the coming three years. The company noted that this include the termination of the company-operated activities in 14 stores in various locations throughout Belgium.
