Cricket Media Signs Global Content Agreement With Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Cricket Media announced a new broad content agreement with global education Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH). Under the deal, Cricket will supply HMH with content from across its portfolio of acclaimed children's magazines and K-12 multimedia offerings for use throughout HMH's comprehensive range of curriculum materials for grades of all levels around the world. The expanded multi-year licensing agreement gives HMH access to over 100,000 articles and passages from Cricket's digital library of award-winning, high-quality literary and informational texts for inclusion in the instructional and supplemental tools it develops for students and teachers. This includes content from Cricket's beloved children's publications, such as Ladybug, Cricket, Cobblestone, Odyssey, Appleseeds and Ask. Cricket's long running excellence in developing enriching, educational content for students ranging in ages from toddlers to teens was most recently acknowledged by the Parents' Choice Foundation, which selected each of Cricket's 18 magazines as a winner of the Spring 2014 Parents' Choice Award.

Cricket Media Group Ltd. announced the appointment of Joan Auchter, Jon Zeitler and Jason Patenaude as officers of the company, each of whom currently hold positions with one or more subsidiaries of the company. Joan Auchter replaces Nina Zolt as the company's Chief Learning Officer. Ms. Auchter was previously the Executive Director of the American Council on Education, the Chief Program Officer and Vice-President of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and the Executive Director of The College Board. Ms. Zolt continues to serve on the company's board of directors. Jon Zeitler has been appointed Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Legal Affairs of the company. Jon was previously the Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development of Zipcar Inc. Jason Patenaude has been appointed as the company's Chief Operating Officer. Jason Patenaude brings to Cricket Media over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry and in digital media development, including mobile applications, electronic books, digital editions and micro-sites. As the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Carus Publishing Company, Mr. Patenaude has extensive experience in electronic publishing, children's publishing and product development. The company also announces that Linda Dozier will no longer formally serve as an officer of the company, though she will continue as an employee.
