Elbit Systems Ltd. to Launch New Generation of CoMPASS Family of Payloads

Elbit Systems Ltd. has announced that it will launch new generation of its CoMPASS family of payloads, the DCoMPASS FHD iMEP, an integrated mission equipment package featuring light weight integrated solution. Specially designed for light weight platforms as light attack/search & rescue helicopters, MALE UAS' and jet Special Mission Aircraft (SMA), the iMEP integrates multiple mission systems and capabilities in a size-weight-power (SWAP) of a standard 15", 40kg EO/IR Payload. The iMEP introduces an integrated digital map, DVR, navigation and data link system, together with an open architecture design for easy and straight forward integration of additional mission equipment. The DCoMPASS FHD iMEP provides a significant advance in payload system capabilities while facilitating easy upgrades of the legacy investments of current customers. It allows an optimal operating point for the major system parameters of performance, weight, power consumption and size, all at a highly competitive price. The DCoMPASS FHD iMEP video interfaces were upgraded to support multiple HD digital video outputs together with the existing mechanical and electrical interfaces of earlier generation systems. This facilitates easy upgrades for existing legacy platforms, thus protecting the investments of current users.
Elbit Systems to Launch Helicopter Version of Skylens Wearable HUD at Farnborough 2014

Elbit Systems announced that it will launch the Helicopter version of the Skylens wearable head-up display for Enhanced Flight Vision System applications at the upcoming Farnborough Airshow 2014. Helicopter Skylens provides aircrew with a true 'out of the cockpit' view, displaying flight symbology for day and night operation in severe weather conditions. In limited visibility conditions, the pilot is able to fly eyes out due to the wide field of regard display. Similar to its commercial counterpart, the Helicopter Skylens is packed in a lightweight, easy-to-install device, much like a pair of sunglasses. The Elbit Systems' helicopter avionics product line for civil applications fuses both synthetic and real-time imagery which offer helicopter pilots a 'real-world' view of the terrain along with all obstacles within their flight path, allowing them to 'see and avoid' even when visibility outside the aircraft is limited.

Elbit Systems Ltd. Wins $20 Million Contract for the Supply of Upgraded Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to Philippines Armed Forces

Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that it was awarded a contract, valued at approximately $20 million, for the supply of upgraded armoured personnel carriers (APCs) to the Philippines Armed Forces. The upgrade will include 25 mm unmanned turrets, 12.7 mm remote controlled weapon stations (RCWS) and fire control systems (FCS) for 90 mm turrets. The APCs will be supplied over a one-year period.
Elbit Systems Deploys Aldec DO-254/CTS and Passes EASA Verification Audit for Level A System

Aldec Inc. announced that Elbit Systems Ltd. has successfully passed a critical verification audit by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) with Aldec's DO-254/CTS(TM) as the primary FPGA physical testing platform. Elbit's project consisted of multiple FPGAs from different types in which each FPGA consisted of multiple clock domains and high speed interfaces to PCI, ARINC and LVDS. Elbit verified FPGA pin-level requirements using DO-254/CTS custom boards and verified board level requirements using their target board. By deploying Aldec's DO-254/CTS in their verification flow, Elbit increased functional verification coverage by test and reduced the overall verification cycle. EASA supported Elbit's FPGA testing approach facilitated by Aldec's DO-254/CTS.
