Ford Motor Company Announces Demise of Director Emeritus William Clay

William Clay Ford, who helped steer Ford Motor Company into the modern era as an employee, director and influential member of the Ford family, died this morning at his home from pneumonia. Mr. Ford, 88, served as Director Emeritus, Ford Motor Company and was the last surviving grandchild of the company's founder, Henry Ford. Mr. Ford served Ford Motor Company for 57 years as an employee and board member, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company for more than half of its 110-year history.
Ford Motor Co to Launch Ford Transit Set in April 2014

Ford Motor Co announced that it will launch the Ford Transit commercial van early April 2014. The Transit will build on the successful and ongoing product-led transformation of the Ford brand in Malaysia. The Transit is being assembled at Sime Darby Bhd's Inokom facility in Kulim, Kedah, and marks the re-start of assembly operations for Ford in the country. The locally-assembled Transit will be sold domestically to meet customer demand for high-quality, reliable and affordable commercial vehicles in Malaysia, the companies said. The Transit is available in two variants: the 13-seat Passenger Van and the Panel Van 350L, both powered by a 2.2L TDCi engine mated with six-speed manual transmission.
Ford to Shift Medium-Duty Truck Production from Mexico to Avon Lake Plant in 2015

Ford Motor Co. is announcing that it will build its Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks at its assembly plant in Ohio. The company announced that it is shifting production from Mexico to its Avon Lake plant. Production will begin early 2015. The move announced on March 7, 2014 is part of a pledge Ford made with union leaders in 2011 to shift medium-duty truck production from Mexico.
Ford to Invest USD 100 Million in China R&D-Centre Expansion

Ford announced that it will expand its research and development (R&D) centre in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China. The USD 200 million facility will get an additional investment of USD 100 million, expanding the centre with an additional 2,000 staff by 2018. Ford is also adding a new test track, which will be located 60 miles from the Nanjing facility.
Ford China Announces Sales Results for the Month and Year-To-Date Ended February 2014

Ford China announced sales results for the month and year-to-date ended February 2014. For the month, the company increased sales by 67% with 73,040 vehicles sold. Total passenger car sales rose 88% with 56,284 vehicles sold compared to 29,950 in February 2013.
For the year-to-date, the company's sales are up 59% with sales of 167,506 vehicles compared to the first two months of 2013. The company has sold 128,882 passenger cars, up 73% from 74,389 vehicles sold during the same period last year.
