The board of directors of General Dynamics has elected Jason W. Aiken to be senior vice president and chief financial officer of the corporation, effective Jan. 1, 2014, to succeed L. Hugh Redd II, who has informed the company of his intention to retire. Aiken is the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. Aiken, 41, has been senior vice president and CFO of Gulfstream since September 2011, responsible for providing financial services and support to all Gulfstream operations. Previously, as vice president and controller of General Dynamics, he was responsible for the company's accounting, financial reporting, government finance and corporate financial systems. He also had been staff vice president of accounting, responsible for financial accounting and reporting functions. Aiken joined General Dynamics in June 2002 as director of consolidation accounting.
General Dynamics Unit Wins $25 Million Task Order from U.S. Air Force

General Dynamics Corporation announced that its Information Technology unit has won a task order to provide modernized base-level network security boundary support to the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at all active Air Force and Air National Guard bases worldwide. The task order was awarded under the Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract and has a potential value of $25.3 million over 2 years if all options are exercised. Work includes network management upgrades at the Air Force Integrated Network Operations and Security Centers and Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team locations.
General Dynamics to Lay Off 23 Workers Locally

General Dynamics is cutting the jobs from its facility at 200 S. Pioneer Blvd. in Springboro. The layoffs come after a decline in work from the facility's principal customers. The employees will be laid off in January 2014, and are represented by the Local 141 union. The company laid off 31 employed in October 2013 from the same facility.
General Dynamics wins $16 Million to Provide U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with IT Management in Afghanistan

General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a task order to provide information technology (IT) management services in Afghanistan to support U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Middle East District reconstruction and infrastructure-development programs. The task order was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services (ITES-2S) contract and has a potential value of $16 million over eighteen months if all options are exercised. Under this task order, General Dynamics will install, manage and upgrade a variety of IT infrastructures and systems in Afghanistan. Additionally, General Dynamics experts will train users of unclassified systems and provide help-desk support services.
