Intel Reportedly Wants $500 Million For Pay-TV Unit

Intel Corporation (NasdaqGS:INTC) is asking about $500 million for OnCue, the online pay-TV service that the world’s largest chipmaker developed before dialing back its ambitions, according to people with knowledge of the process. Intel is seeking to secure a sale by the end of 2013, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) has begun talking with owners of Pay-TV Unit about terms for a streaming TV service, the people said. Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (KOSE:A005930) and Liberty Global plc (NasdaqGS:LBTY.A) also met with Intel, people said earlier. Scott Alan, Senior Vice President of Colliers said on November 25, 2013, Intel has hired Colliers International to market for sale its $1 million-square-foot DuPont campus Laura Anderson. A spokeswoman for Intel, declined to comment on November 26, 2013 as did Bob Varettoni, a spokesman for Verizon.

Liberty Reportedly In Talks With Intel To Acquire Online Pay-TV Service

Liberty Global plc (NasdaqGS:LBTY.A) is in early stage negotiations to buy the online pay-TV service, Intel Media, Inc. of Intel Corporation (NasdaqGS:INTC) which is still currently being developed, three sources told Bloomberg. According to one of the sources, Liberty Global's John Malone would utilize the system of Intel Corp located outside the US.
