Comcast Cable and Liberty Global plc have announced an agreement to allow users to access each other's Wi-Fi networks, creating an international Wi-Fi access agreement that will give many Xfinity Internet and Liberty Global internet customers access to millions of new Wi-Fi access points in various countries by 2015. This first-of-its-kind international partnership highlights Comcast's and Liberty Global's shared leadership in Wi-Fi innovation and deployment. For both Comcast and Liberty Global, out-of-home Wi-Fi is an important internet service benefit that allows customers to stay connected to high-speed broadband service. This agreement gives many of the 11 million Americans visiting Europe and the 12 million Europeans visiting the United States each year a free alternative to cellular data roaming.
Vodafone Open To Deal With Liberty Global

Vittorio Colao, Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Group Public Limited Company (LSE:VOD) told Bloomberg that he is open to a deal with Liberty Global plc (NasdaqGS:LBTY.A) at the right price. Shares in Vodafone were down 1.1%.
Liberty Eyes Acquisitions In UK

Liberty Global plc (NasdaqGS:LBTY.A) is looking for acquisition opportunties in UK indies. Jim Ryan, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Liberty, said, "We are not affiliated to a big studio so we are interested in local content opportunities". He added that Liberty had a long-term strategy in place and was currently acquisitive because it considered that good quality production companies available for sale were becoming increasingly rare. He said that Liberty had four main investment priorities - production, sport, OTT services and free-to-air broadcasters.
Liberty Global Not To Increase Stake In ITV

Liberty Global plc (NasdaqGS:LBTY.A) does not plan to increase its stake in ITV plc (LSE:ITV), Chief Strategy Officer, James Ryan said. Liberty Global took a 6.4% stake earlier this year. He said: "We have no current plans to build that stake. We do want to find some portfolio investments we can use to enhance the Virgin Media acquisition, so for us the ITV stake, where it is right now is perfect ... it gives us a seat at the table, at any UK content discussions.”
