L'oreal Group Appoints Marc Speichert as Chief Marketing Officer

L'oreal Group announced that Mr. Speichert joined L'Oreal USA in 2010 in the newly created role of Chief Marketing Officer. Since then, under his CMO leadership the USA businesses have led the way in capturing consumer intelligence and new business opportunities, taking advantage of new digital technologies. A Chief Marketing Officer organization has now been duplicated in the Group's most strategic markets. In his international role, Mr. Speichert will now accelerate the United States success model globally. Over the last three years, he has built the business case and implemented the CMO organization in the United States and has actively contributed to the company's Group's Strategic Marketing governance. Mr. Speichert will assume the global leadership of the CMOs in the countries. He will work with each of the L'Oreal geographic Zones in defining their CMO priorities and roadmaps, their organization guidelines, and to functionally lead the growing CMO teams across the world. Additionally, he will take on the responsibility of animating the now established CMO Board of the L'Oreal Group and to secure the company's talent investment plans regarding all CMO functions which include: media and new media, consumer insights and consumer affairs, business analytics, CRM and e-business. Mr. Speichert will also work in close collaboration with L'Oreal's digital acceleration teams. Mr. Speichert will continue to report to Frederic Roze, President & CEO, L'Oreal Americas and directly manage the CMO's Americas organization based in New York. Prior to L'Oreal, Mr. Speichert worked for Colgate-Palmolive where he held various marketing positions.

The L'Oreal group announced that it is creating a Group Travel Retail Division. The new division will include the L'Oreal Luxe brands, as well as brands from the other divisions: Active Cosmetics, Professional Products, Consumer Products and The Body Shop. The company is aiming to win over a billion new consumers with its universalization strategy, which seeks to meet the diverse beauty needs of men and women around the world. Barbara Lavernos, Managing Director of L'Oreal Group Travel Retail, will head the Group Travel Retail Division Worldwide, and will report to Nicolas Hieronimus, President of Selective Divisions. The Division will be based in the Paris suburb of Levallois.

L'Oreal SA reported group sales results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported total sales of €5,475.1 million compared to €5,519 million a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported total sales of €17,213.2 million compared to €16,732 million a year ago.

L'Oreal SA reported sales results for the third quarter of 2013. Sales for quarter reached EUR 5.48 billion, down 0.8% over unfavourable exchange rates and a slowdown in demand in North America.
The company confirmed its targets for 2013 and its ambition of achieving a further year of growth in sales, results and profitability.
