Lattice Semiconductor Corporation announced a USB 3.1 Type-C power delivery solution that enables manufacturers to immediately develop USB 3.1 Type-C connectors and quickly get them to market. The Lattice power delivery solution comprehensively addresses all the critical power-related functions required by the recently finalized USB 3.1 Type-C specification, which defines very small jacks well suited to smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. The core of Lattice's solution is the company's highly successful iCE40 devices, which are ideal for this application with an combination of programmability, low power and small size. The Lattice USB 3.1 Type-C power delivery solution is the latest addition to the company's portfolio of USB 3 and 3.1 solutions.

Lattice Semiconductor Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 28, 2014. For the quarter, revenue was $99.320 million against $84.694 million a year ago. Income from operations was $13.101 million against $7.015 million a year ago. Income before provision for income taxes was $14.007 million against $6.961 million a year ago. Net income was $11.771 million or $0.10 per diluted share against $5.040 million or $0.04 per diluted share a year ago. Operating cash flow was $21.1 million. The company spent approximately $2.5 million on capital expenditures.
For the six months, revenue was $195.957 million against $155.852 million a year ago. Income from operations was $26.503 million against $9.656 million a year ago. Income before provision for income taxes was $27.718 million against $9.550 million a year ago. Net income was $23.755 million or $0.20 per diluted share against $6.930 million or $0.06 per diluted share a year ago.

Lattice Semiconductor Corporation has announced the availability of LFE5UM-85, a new addition to its ECP5 family. The new 85K LUT (look up table) LFE5UM-85 devices sampling now, are the large in the family and available in the same packages as smaller devices in the family - which enables designers to prototype in the large device size for convenience and flexibility, then optimize for cost in a lower density device when they go to production.
