Mahindra & Mahindra Announces to Invest INR 40,000 Million

Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it will invest INR 40,000 million over a seven year period to expand its existing facility at Chakan in Maharashtra. The company, which had earlier put on hold the expansion at the plant and considered other options citing lack of support from the Maharashtra government, said the fresh infusion would take its total investment in Chakan to INR 80,000 million.

Mahindra and Mahindra has introduced its new Arjun Novo, a new generation tractor. The vehicle will be offered in two versions of 57bhp and 605DI-PS. The model is to be priced at INR 700,000. It is designed and developed in- house at Mahindra research valley, the company's global research facility in Chennai.
Mahindra & Mahindra Announces Earnings Results for the Full Year 2014

Mahindra & Mahindra announced earnings results for the full year 2014. In fiscal year of 2014, the company sold 254,344 passenger vehicles, a decline of 18% over the year-ago period. Commercial vehicles volumes were up 7% during the period to 152,398 units. Net sales during the fiscal remained flat at INR 4,050.85 billion, as compared with a year ago period. The net profit went up 12% to INR 375.84 billion during the fiscal as compared with the previous year.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. launched a new tractor platform. The automaker has launched the new platform almost 14 years after catering to the 50bhp to 60bhp and above category. The product took over three years to develop, with an investment of around INR 3 billion and input from over 100 engineers. The company has launched two versions, the Arjun Novo 605DI-I (57 hp) and 605DI-PS (52 hp) at its Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, priced at INR 735,000 and INR 715,000 respectively.
