NVIDIA Corporation Launches Advanced Tablet Built for Gamers

NVIDIA Corporation launched the newest members of the NVIDIA(R) SHIELD(TM) family: the SHIELD tablet and the SHIELD wireless controller. Designed and built by NVIDIA, the SHIELD tablet is first and foremost a high-performance tablet that is packed with exceptional features. Lenovo Announces Collaboration with Nvidia Corporation to Develop New Visualization Technology Solution for Exploration Geophysics

Lenovo Group Limited has announced collaboration with Nvidia Corporation to develop a new visualization technology solution for exploration geophysics. The combined solution leverages Lenovo ThinkStation D30 workstations, NVIDIA Tesla K40 GPU accelerators and Magma GPU expansion technology to power Hue's visualization technology for exploration and production application development, providing the ability to render massive amounts of geophysical visualization data in seconds. Exploration geophysics is the key to oil and natural gas discovery, but the industry continues to be hindered by the inability to process the increasing amounts of seismic data required to render and visualize complex earth models. For the first time, this new, combined visualization solution brings high-performance computing (HPC) to the Hue software development toolkit, minimizing delays and transforming the way geophysicists process seismic data. Delivering a 64-bit optimized environment, the solution analyzes terabytes and even petabytes of data in seconds, enabling geophysicists to execute complex algorithms quickly in a seamless workflow. The foundation of the combined solution is the Lenovo ThinkStation D30 workstation, the high performing, most reliable and most user-friendly workstation technology available. Eurotech Teams With Applied Micro Circuits Corporation and NVIDIA to Develop New HPC System Architecture

Eurotech has teamed up with Applied Micro Circuits Corporation and NVIDIA to develop a new, original high performance computing system architecture that combines extreme density and best-in-class energy efficiency. The new architecture is based on an innovative highly modular and scalable packaging concept. Eurotech, which has years of significant experience in designing and manufacturing original HPC systems, has successfully developed an HPC systems architecture that optimizes the benefits of greater density, as well as the energy efficiency of ARM processors and high-performance GPU accelerators. For this development, Eurotech partnered with AppliedMicro, utilizing X-GeneTM, the world's first ARMv8 64-bit-based Server on a Chip Solution. Eurotech has paired X-Gene with NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators to efficiently deliver high performance for demanding HPC workloads. NVIDIA announced that multiple server vendors are leveraging the performance of NVIDIA(R) GPU accelerators to launch the world's first 64-bit ARM development systems for high performance computing (HPC). ARM64 server processors were primarily designed for micro-servers and web servers because of their extreme energy efficiency. Now, they can tackle HPC-class workloads when paired with GPU accelerators using the NVIDIA CUDA(R) 6.5 parallel programming platform, which supports 64-bit ARM processors. GPUs provide ARM64 server vendors with the muscle to tackle HPC workloads, enabling them to build high-performance systems that maximize the ARM architecture's power efficiency and system configurability. Highly Efficient HPC Computing Options: Featuring Applied Micro X-GeneARM64 CPUs and NVIDIA Tesla(R) K20 GPU accelerators, the new ARM64 servers will provide customers with an expanded range of efficient, high-performance computing options to drive compute-intensive HPC and enterprise data center workloads. In addition, users will immediately be able to take advantage of hundreds of existing CUDA-accelerated scientific and engineering HPC applications by simply recompiling them to ARM64 systems. NVIDIA's GameWorks Team is working closely with Ubisoft's development studios to incorporate cutting edge graphics technology and gaming innovations to create game worlds that deliver unprecedented realism and immersion. NVIDIA's GameWorks technology includes TXAA antialiasing, which provides Hollywood-levels of smooth animation, soft shadows, HBAO+ (horizon-based ambient occlusion), advanced DX11 tessellation, and NVIDIA PhysX technology.
