Quantum Delivers Hydrogen Dispensing System to Linde for a Retail Fueling Station in West Sacramento

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc., in partnership with Linde North America, announced the first hydrogen dispensing system that measures hydrogen mass with connectivity to retail interface and user friendly payment features. In partnership with Linde, Quantum has developed a highly specialized Hydrogen Dispenser system for 35 and 70 MPa service. For the first time, measuring the mass of hydrogen from a dispensing unit was successful and has received conditional approval for commercial service in California by the Department of Measurements and Standards. This is the first public accessible Hydrogen refueling station that has demonstrated SAE compliant fast fill performance with accurate mass flow measurement. In addition to the development of dispensers, Quantum's flag ship type IV tank, Q-Lite™, takes full advantage of maximizing gas and reducing storage weight not only experienced with CNG but also hydrogen.

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company’s total revenues were $6,618,223 against $8,697,297 a year ago. Operating loss was $4,626,483 against $947,666 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations before income tax was $5,001,897 against $5,121,626 a year ago. Loss from continuing operations was $5,001,897 or $0.21 per basic and diluted share against $5,121,626 or $0.34 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net loss was $5,200,029 or $0.22 per basic and diluted share against $5,532,632 or $0.36 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was $5,038,719 against $2,665,518 a year ago. The $0.3 million improvement in net loss for the current year period was primarily attributable to the effects of non-operating activities, which included a $3.0 million increase in gains resulting from the change in fair value of derivative instruments and a $0.8 million decrease in net interest expense.

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. announced that it has supplied its Q-Lite storage tanks for use in Nat G CNG Solutions' recently introduced CNG-based Navistar spark-ignited DT 466 vehicle application. Nat G CNG Solutions, based in Houston, Texas, performed the system integration of the tanks and installation of the CNG system on the Navistar trucks. Quantum's Q-Lite advanced fuel storage tanks and systems mSHYSHYaximizes a vehicle's range allowing for reduced weight, increased natural gas capacity and performance. The Q-Lite patented technology allows light-to-medium to heavy-duty trucks to get the most out of its fuel storage capacity than any other compressed natural gas tanks in the market.
