Scripps Networks Eyes Acquisitions
Mar 11 14
Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. (NYSE:SNI) intends to make acquisitions. Ken Lowe, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the company said: “We're in the throes of repositioning the Travel Channel. So to your question, we see the future as continuing to have more organic development internally now on the digital side. We just put Tammy Franklin in that role. We have a lot of positive feelings about where we can go in digital. At the same time, yeah, I think there will be some bolt on investments and acquisition opportunities. I don't think they're going to be huge, I don't think you'll see us doing anything on a major acquisition scale. But it's back to what I said earlier, just continuing to stay focused on what we do. We have some enormously rich and deep categories that we think can be mined for a number of years. And so when you have a controlling family like the Scripps who believe in long term value, long term investing, it does I think make our job a little bit easier.”
