Vimpelcom Raises Capacity of LTE and 3G Network in the City of Astrakhan

Vimpelcom announced that it has raised the capacity of its LTE and 3G network in the city of Astrakhan. The operator has also introduced Dual Carrier-HSDPA+ (DC-HSDPA) technology in the town of Kamyshin in the Volgograd region, with 80% of 3G base stations in the area currently supporting the technology. Beeline has raised the number of its 3G base stations by 15% in the Belgorod region since the beginning of the year, and plans to double that number by the end of the year. HSPA+ technology has been introduced on the 3G network in the towns of Serov, Tavda, Sukhoy-Log and Verkhnyaya-Pyshma in the Yekaterinburg region.
VimpelCom Successfully Completes $1.8 Billion Revolving Credit Facility

VimpelCom Ltd. announced that it has successfully completed a new revolving credit facility of up to $1.8 billion for VimpelCom Amsterdam B.V. The RCF has a three-year tenor and will replace the existing $500 million RCF signed in 2011. Currently 11 banks have committed to the RCF in the aggregate amount of $1.65 billion. The RCF contains an option to increase the amount of the facility by up to $150 million within 6 months from the date of the signing. The Company also announced that it has successfully completed a new term facility of $0.5 billion for VIP Amsterdam. This three-year term facility was entered into with Alfa-Bank. Both credit facilities are unsecured and guaranteed by VimpelCom Holdings B.V.

VimpelCom will invest about USD 350 million over two years to expand the Bangladeshi mobile operator's 3G network. Banglalink has rolled out its 3G network to all divisional cities and plans to cover all districts by June 2014.

VimpelCom Ltd. announced the appointment of Yogesh Malik as Group Chief Technology Officer, with immediate effect. Yogesh has also been appointed a member of the Group Executive Board and the Group Management Board. Before joining VimpelCom Yogesh Malik was the Chief Executive Officer of Uninor, an Indian mobile network operator majority owned by the Telenor Group. In Uninor he held a variety of senior positions from 2010 to 2013. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Yogesh led the Uninor operations as COO covering the areas of Technology, Regulatory and Customer care.
