Yadkin Valley Financial Corp. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported total interest income of $18,275,000 against $20,989,000 for the same period last year. Net interest income was $15,052,000 against $15,892,000 for the same period last year. Net interest income after provision for loan losses was $14,815,000 against $13,541,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $7,257,000 against $3,471,000 for the same period last year. Net income available to common shareholders was $4,204,000 or $0.10 per diluted share against $2,650,000 or $0.14 per diluted share for the same period last year. Book value per share as at March 31, 2013 was $3.40 against $4.92 as at March 31, 2012. Return on average assets (annualized) was a 0.91% against 0.54% for the same period last year. Return on average equity (annualized) was 9.94% against 6.48% for the same period last year. Tangible book value per share as at March 31, 2013 was $3.34 against $4.74 for the same period last year. Return on tangible equity (annualized) was 10.09% against 6.63% for the same period last year.
