Mr. Mills served as Director of Planning in the Information Systems and Communications Group since 1985. Since 1986, he served as one of the executives of IBM, responsible for starting its Publishing Systems Business Unit. He served as Director of Financial Planning of Corporate Headquarters since 1988. He joined the Programming Systems line of business of IBM in 1989 as Programming Systems Director of Operations. He served as Assistant General Manager of Finance and Planning for IBM since December 1990. Since December 1992, he served as General Manager of Santa Teresa Laboratory. Since 1993, he served as General Manager of IBM's Software Solutions Division. He has been a Director of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. since May 18, 2011. Mr. Mills is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York.
