Mr. David I. Goulden has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of EMC Corporation since July 17, 2012. Mr. Goulden served as an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of EMC Corporation since August 2006. Mr. Goulden served as an Executive Vice President of Business Development, Customer Solutions and Marketing of EMC Corporation from November 2003 to April 2004 and Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Development from July ... 2002 to November 2003 and Executive Vice President Customer Operations since April 2004 to August 2006. There, he was a Member of the Board of Management, President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for operations in the Americas and Asia Pacific, a role he assumed after Getronics acquired Wang Global in June 1999. Mr. Goulden served as Member of Management Board of Getronics NV. until July 15, 2002. Prior to the acquisition, he served in numerous executive, strategy and marketing roles during a decade with Wang, as President of Wang Global's U.S. Operations in 1999, as Senior Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Development directing its worldwide go-to-market strategy since 1997, and as the leader of the acquisition team for the 1998 purchase of Olsy, the former worldwide services and solutions subsidiary of Olivetti, which more than doubled Wang's size, when it became known as Wang Global. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Goulden served as Senior Vice President of Wang's Software Business Unit, directing software product strategy, marketing, and research and development. He also led three software-related acquisitions, filling out Wang Software's product line and building it into an industry leader in workflow and imaging. From 1994 to 1995, Mr. Goulden served as Senior Vice President for corporate development in charge of business strategy, acquisitions and alliances, where he led Wang's acquisition of key operating units of Groupe Bull North America and Pacific and forged partnerships with Microsoft and Kodak, which acquired Wang Software two years later. From 1992 to 1993, he directed the development of Wang's successful reorganization plan and the marketing of Wang's entire products and services portfolio. Prior to joining Wang in 1990, he was ten years at Unisys in a series of international sales and marketing positions. He has been Director at VMware Inc. since April 2007. Mr. Goulden holds a B.S. degree in Physics from Durham University and an Executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
