Mackay serves as a Member of Advisory Board at The British-American Business Council. He served as an Executive Director of Compass Group Plc. Sir. Mackay served as a Director of ISS A/S from September1, 2006 to December 2008. He served as a Director of ISS Holding A/S from September 2006 to December 2008. He served as a Director of ISS Group Ltd. He served as an Executive Director of Granada Compass. He served as a Member of the Supervisory Board at Hornbach Holding AG until July14, 2006. Sir. Mackay was educated at Bonaventure Grammar School. He qualified as an Accountant in 1967 with Appleby and Wood.
