He worked for 10 years at Rockwell International in the Electronics Research Center. During his tenure, he served as Manager of Semiconductor Fabrication Operations at Rockwell International. He has been Director of Pica8 Inc since February 25, 2013. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Applied Materials, Inc. since April 30, 2003. He has been Representative Director at Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. since March 1, 2008. He serves as a Director of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International. As Chairman and a key Member of the Technology Chief Executive Officer Council, he is helping drive new U.S. federal public policy. He serves on a number of influential business and industry boards and councils, including the U.S. - India Chief Executive Officer Forum, a group of 24 CEOs with a focus on strengthening economic ties between the United States and India. He serves as a Trustee at Santa Clara University. He serves on the board of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Internationally, he is a Member of the Governors' Council of the World Economic Forum. He is author of numerous papers and articles. His work in the semiconductor industry and dedication to the community have garnered many awards, including the California-Israel Chamber of Commerce International Partnership Award, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Wisconsin and being named to the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame. He was awarded two patents. In 2009, he received the San Qin Friendship Award from China's Shaanxi Provincial Government, the Provincial government's highest recognition for efforts and achievements of foreign friends.
