He serves as the Chairman of First Merchants Corporation at First Merchants Bank National Association. He has been Independent Non-employee Director of Heritage-Crystal Clean, Inc. since March 2008. As the Indiana Governor Mitch first appointment, he was named the Director of the Indiana Office of Management and Budget and the Chief Financial Officer for the State of Indiana. In this post, Dr. Schalliol was active for the administration in all financially based legislative efforts. He also led the financing of the $1 billion Indiana stadium and convention center project and was responsible for both the planning and implementation of the $4 billion leasing transaction of the Indiana Toll Road. Dr. Schalliol also led the Administration's effort to license the Indiana Lottery. Under his leadership, Indiana achieved its first balanced budget in eight years, passed four years of balanced budgets, and received credit upgrades from major rating agencies. He is a Member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honorary Society and Advisory Boards of Purdue Center for Entrepreneurship, Centerfield Capital Partners, L.P., and Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. Dr. Schalliol served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Fast Track Systems and Nanostream, Inc. He serves as a Director and previously served as the Chairman at the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute and was the President of the Arts Council of Indianapolis. He is also a Trustee of the Indiana Nature Conservancy and the Chairman of Church Council of Carmel United Methodist Church. Dr. Schalliol received a Doctor of Law from Yale Law School in 1974, and a B.S., with high distinction, in Business Economics and Public Policy from Indiana University in 1970.
