Mr. Idei was a Member of the Board of Directors for World Economic Forum. He is a Member of Japan's National IT Strategy Council. Outside of this, Mr. Idei was a Counsellor to the Bank of Japan from April 1999 to March 2007. He played a major role in the development of Japan's IT strategy which formed the foundation of Japan's Information Technology Basic Law. Mr. Idei attended L'Institute des Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva, Switzerland from 1962 to 1963. He received a B.S. degree in Economics and Politics from Waseda University in Tokyo in March 1960.
