Dr. Wolfgang Plischke serves as the President and General Manager of the Pharma Group of Bayer Pharma S.A. Dr. Plischke has been the Chairman of Management Board of Bayer HealthCare AG since March 1, 2013 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He has been a Member of Management Board at Bayer AG since March 1, 2006. He served as a Member of the Board of Management of Bayer Schering Pharma AG. Dr. Plischke served as a General Manager of Pharmaceuticals Business Group ... at Bayer AG since January 2002. He was the Head of International Strategic Marketing in 1991 and since 1995, he was the Managing Director and President of Bayer Yakuhin Ltd., Japan, with responsibility for Pharmaceuticals, Biological Products and Consumer Care, he was in charge of research and development, production and marketing. He headed the Pharmaceuticals Business Group in North America since 2000. Since December 2007, Dr. Plischke has been Chairman of the German Association of Research- Based Pharmaceutical Companies. He serves as the Chairman of Supervisory Board of Bayer Real Estate GmbH and Bayer Technology Services GmbH. He serves as Chairman of Bayer Material Science AG. Dr. Plischke served as a Non-Executive Director of ARK Therapeutics Group PLC from December , 2003 to August 2010 and previously served as its Director since December 2003. He serves as a Member of the boards of the German Diabetes Foundation (DDS), the Ludwig Heilmeyer Society, the Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Companies (VFA) and the German Asia-Pacific Business Association. In addition, he serves as a Member of the boards of trustees of the Paul Ehrlich Foundation and the German Chemical Industry Fund. Dr. Plischke studied biology from the Hohenheim University and obtained his Doctorate in Plant Physiology at the Institute for Genetics there.
