He was also a 2003 inductee to the Maryland Business Hall of Fame and was named Washington Business Leader of the Year 2003 by The Washingtonian Magazine, July 2003. He is the 2004 Chief Executive Officer of the Year for The George Washington University School of Business. Dr. Hockmeyer was recognized, in 1998, by the University of Florida as a Distinguished Alumnus and in 2002. In 2002, he was awarded a Doctor Science honoris from Purdue University. Dr. Hockmeyer earned his BS from Purdue University in 1966 and his PhD from the University of Florida in 1972.
