Dr. Mark B. Knudson Ph.D. is the Founder of EnteroMedics Inc. and has been its Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President since December 2012. Dr. Knudson serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Venturi Group, LLC. Dr. Knudson has also been the Managing Venture Partner of Medical Innovation Partners II since 1993. Prior to their successful acquisition, Dr. Knudson founded and served on the Board of Directors of Arden Medical Systems, Inc., Integ, Inc., HeartStream, Inc., InControl, Inc, and was a Member of Advisory Board at Artesian Capital. He served as a Director of Nevro Corp. He was a member of the faculty of the University of Washington School Of Medicine. Dr. Knudson was elected to membership in Sigma Xi in 1975 and is also a Fellow of the American Heart Association. He was the recipient of research grant awards from the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Knudson was also the recipient of an Individual Post-doctoral Fellowship Award from the National Institutes of Health. He is the named inventor on issued patents for Restore Medical, Inc. as well as for several other Venturi Group backed companies. Dr. Knudson is the holder of over 40 United States patents. He holds a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology from Washington State University and a B.S. degree in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University.
