Prof. Charles Warren Olanow MD, FRCPC is the Henry P. and Georgette Goldschmidt Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Professor of Neuroscience of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Prof. Olanow is the Chief of the Neurology Service of the Mount Sinai Hospital. He is also visiting professor of Neurology at the Royal Free and University College Hospital Medical School. He served as a Treasurer of the American Neurological Association and was President of the Movement Disorder Society and the International Society of Motor Disturbances. He serves on the boards of the American Parkinson's Disease Association, the United Parkinson Foundation, the Association for Research in Nervous and Mental Disease and is Director of the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence at Mount Sinai. Prof. Olanow has served on numerous editorial and scientific advisory boards and has lectured at Universities and Conferences throughout the world. Prof. Olanow has authored more than 300 publications primarily related to Parkinson's disease and neurodegeneration. Prof. Olanow is a graduate of the University of Toronto and trained in neurology at the Neurological Institute at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. Prof. Olanow received his medical degree from the University of Toronto, performed his neurology training at the New York Neurological Institute at Columbia University and did Fellowship in neuroanatomy at Columbia University.
