Mr. Chris Brooke serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of China Operations at CBRE Group, Inc. Mr. Brooke is based in Beijing and performs a dual role within CBRE. He has a overall responsibility for the strategic direction and business operations of the company in mainland China. He is involved in the formulation of business strategy, implementation of client relationship and corporate initiatives, oversight of geographical and functional expansion as well ... as the coordination of the cross border activities between the China business unit and the remainder of the regional and global platform operated by CBRE. He is also a member of the Asia Pacific Strategic Group within CBRE, which is responsible for the formulation and implementation of business strategy within Asia Pacific. He began his career in the United Kingdom in 1989, after which he relocated to Hong Kong. From 1992 To 2005 he specialised in the provision of consultancy advice in relation to real estate markets and development projects in Hong Kong, China and the Asia Pacific region and participated within assignments associated with market research, feasibility studies, land premium negotiations, development projects and joint venture agreements. During this period, he was responsible for the provision of advice regarding property development, investment, and financial viability issues to a wide range of corporations, landowners and developers, as well as providing strategic advice and consultancy services to occupiers, retailers and investors. Since 2005, he has held a number of senior management positions at CBRE both in China and at a regional level. Upon completion of the merger between CBRE and Insignia Brooke in July 2003, Mr. Brooke became an Executive Director, Greater China at CBRE, with responsibility for the Strategic Development Consultancy business line. Mr. Brooke took up responsibility for the Strategic Development Consultancy business line in Asia with effect from January 2004. This business line was renamed CBRE Consulting in January 2005. From January 2005 to May 2006, Mr. Brooke was responsible for the operations of the CBRE Consulting business line throughout Asia, involving the overall co-ordination of all assignments undertaken by teams within the CBRE Consulting business line situated in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Korea, India and South East Asia. Mr. Brooke served as Managing Director, China since October 1, 2005, with this role being expanded to Managing Director, Greater China since January 1, 2006. Mr. Brooke served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Greater China since January 1, 2007 and President and Chief Executive Officer of Asia since July 1, 2009. As a result of a re-organisation of the Asia business unit. Mr. Brooke was responsible for the direction and management of the Advisory Services Division at Insignia Brooke in Hong Kong from 1992 to 2002, specialising in consultancy assignments, development advice and feasibility studies in Hong Kong, China and the Asia Pacific Region. In September 2002, he became the Director & General Manager of the Beijing office, relocating to Beijing on a full time basis in January 2003. From April 2002, Mr. Brooke also took up the position as the Head of Advisory Services for the Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Brooke gained experience in a number of fields including retail development, valuation and commercial agency, prior to joining the development consultancy department within the firm. He was involved in projects throughout the United Kingdom and worked for Clients such as the Crown Estate, the Ministry of Defence, British Gas, The Commissioner for New Towns as well as a number of local authorities.
