He has been a Director of Cousins Properties Inc. since February 2005 and of Duke Energy Corp. since June 29, 2005. He serves as a Director of American City Business Journals Inc., ACE Guaranty RE, ACE Capital RE Corporation and Sprint Nextel. He has been Independent Director of Ford Motor Co., since July 8th, 2010. Mr. Hance has been a Director of Summit Properties Inc. since 1994. He served as a Director of Caraustar Industries Inc. from November 1995 to 2003. He served as a Director of Fon Group, Enpro Industries Inc. since May 21, 2002 ,and Rayonier Inc. since July 1, 2004. Mr. Hance was a Director of Lance Inc. from 1995 to April 25, 2003 and also served as Member of Compensation Committee. He served as Director of Morgan Stanley from July 1, 2009 to May 15, 2012. Mr. Hance serves as the Chairman of Trustees at North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Mr. Hance is a Trustee of Washington University in St. Louis and a Member of Washington University's National Council for the John M. Olin School of Business. In addition, he is a Director of The United Negro College Fund and The Foundation for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as well as a Member of the Society of International Business Fellows. Mr. Hance has served on the Boards of Visitors at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business and Johnson C. Smith University. He has also served as the Co-Chairman of Advantage Carolina. Mr. Hance is a Certified Public Accountant and MBA from Washington University and a BA in Economics from Westminster College in Missouri.
