Mr. Michael E. Roach has been the Chief Executive Officer of CGI Group, Inc. since January 2006 and has been its President since 2002. Mr. Roach joined CGI in July 1998 after a 25-year career at Bell Canada. He is responsible for over­seeing CGI's worldwide operations, as well as managing all global corporate functions including finance, technology, corporate services, marketing and business engineering. Mr. Roach served as Chief Operating Officer of CGI Group Inc., ... from 2002 to January 2006. In 2004, under his leadership, CGI completed its largest acquisition – acquiring American Management Systems (AMS) for CDN$1.1 billion dollars – successfully integrating 4,800 professionals worldwide into its operations. He served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for Canada at IMRglobal Corp. Mr. Roach served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bell Sygma Inc. (Bell Sygma Telecom Solutions) since 1998. In this capacity, he spearheaded the merger of Bell Sygma into CGI. Prior to this, he held a variety of leadership positions with Bell Sygma and Bell Canada. Mr. Roach served as a Director of CGI Group, Inc., since June 2006 and Yellow Media Limited since February 9, 2011. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Conference Board of Canada, Innovapost Inc. as well as the Mount Pleasant Group. He serves as a Trustee of The Conference Board, Inc. He serves as Member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives and of the U.S. Conference Board. Mr. Roach holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science as well as an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario.
