During his 13 year career with Rio Tinto group, Mr. Clayton held numerous senior management positions, including Head of Financial Planning and Reporting for Rio Tinto PLC in London since 1998. Prior to joining Rio Tinto group, Mr. Clayton spent nine years at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (Pwc) auditing and consulting for the U.S. mining industry and three years as Pac’s Engagement Manager to Phelps Dodge Corporation. He serves as Chairman of the Western Business Roundtable and the American Coal Foundation. Mr. Clayton serves as a Member of the National Advisory Council for Brigham Young University. He has been a Director of Praxair Inc. since April 24, 2012 and Constellium Holdco B.V. since January 5, 2011. Mr. Clayton served as a Non Independent Director of Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. (also known as Ivanhoe Mines Ltd.) from May 11, 2007 to 2009. He served as a Director of International Copper Association from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Clayton served on the Board of Directors for the US National Mining Association from 2002 to 2006. He served as a Member of the Coal Industry Adviser Board to the International Energy Agency from 2003 to 2006. He is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Clayton holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and is a graduate of the International Executive Management Program of INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
