Prior to Abbott, Mr. Gonzalez served as a research biochemist at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He serves on the board of Directors of the John G. Shedd Aquarium and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He served as a Director of Abbott Vascular, Inc. until September 30, 2007 and Abbott Laboratories from December 14, 2001 to September 30, 2007.
