He was Production Engineering Specialist and Business Development Coordinator of APA Petroleum Engineering Inc., from October 2004 to September 2005. Prior to moving to Saudi Arabia, he served as the President of Newscope Resources Limited for five years and before that held senior positions with Morgan Hydrocarbons and Roxy Petroleum. He returned to international operations in 1991, joining Saudi Aramco as a production engineering specialist where he worked for more than 13 years. In this role he led the application of new downhole technologies in a number of oil production enhancement projects in Ghawar, the largest oil field in the world. Mr. Shepherd received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Saskatchewan in 1970 and is a member of APEGGA and SPE.
