Background*

Mr. Pan Shiyi Co-founded Soho China Ltd. in 1995 and serves as its Chairman and also served as its Co-Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Pan had already established himself in China as a successful and innovative real estate developer. He began property development work in Hainan and was one of the first private sector professional property developers in China following the liberalization of the property market in China beginning in the early 1990s. Mr. Pan is not only a successful ... entrepreneur, but also an Opinion Shaper. He has been frequently invited to speak at prestigious conferences and forums including World Economic Forum, Asia Leadership Forum and Boao Forum for Asia. He worked in the Ministry of Petroleum. From 1987, he began working in the property development realm in Shenzhen and Hainan. In 1992, Mr. Pan Co-established Beijing Vantone Co. Ltd., and developed several properties in Beijing, including Vantone New World Plaza, Air-China Tower and Vantone Lishan Plaza (now re-named Central Park). His vision is to build contemporary Chinese architecture. He developed SOHO Shang Du and Chaowai SOHO, which are both mixed-use projects located in the CBD of Beijing. Mr. Pan serves as an Executive Director of Soho China Ltd. He was selected as one of the ¡°25 Most Powerful People in Business in China¡± by Fortune magazine (Chinese edition) in April, 2005, is a Host and Speaker of the Real Estate Panel of Boao Forum for Asia, 2005, selected as one of the "Top Ten Most Outstanding People in the Real Estate Sector" in China by Sina.com for the past three years, selected as one of "the Ten Most Influential Figures in the Real Estate Industry" in China in 2004 by Sohu.com, selected as one of "the Top 50 Most Influential Chinese in the Real Estate Sector" of the "China's 2003 Richest List", jointly compiled by Rupert Hoogewerf and Euromoney, Speaker at 2002 and 2003 World Economic Forum, Speaker at 2003 Asia Leadership Forum, Speaker at 2002 and 2003 at Boao Forum for Asia, Widely featured in both Chinese and overseas press such as "Time magazine", "CNN", "the Wall Street Journal", "Knight-Ridder Newspapers", "Le Monde" and "South China Morning Post" etc., awarded as one of the Top Ten Most Influential People in Chinese Property Industry by the 3rd China International Housing and Archi-Tech Fair (CIHAF) in 2001.
