Dr. Julius R. Krevans, M.D. served as Chancellor Emeritus of International Medical Care at University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) from 1993 to June 2002. Dr. Krevans served as Chancellor of the University of California, San Francisco from July 1982 to May 1993 and where he was the fifth chancello. He is a distinguished physician and educator and played an important role nationally in developing public policy in medical education and in health sciences, as well ... as in the advancement of biomedical research. Prior to his appointment as Chancellor, Dr. Krevans served as a Professor of Medicine and Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco from 1971 to 1982. He serves as a Directors of the Bay Area Bioscience Center. Dr.Krevans served as an Independent Director of Calypte Biomedical Corp. from March 1995 to September 16, 2009. He served as a Director of AccuImage Diagnostics Corp., from 2002 to February 2004. He served as a Member of the Board of Advisors of LiveProcess. Dr. Krevans serves as a Member of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, and led its Committee for the National Research Agenda on Aging to 1991. He served as Director of International Medical Care at University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) from 1993 to June 2002. He was also active on the boards and committees of numerous national foundations, government agencies, and organizations including American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Medical Panel of A.P. Giannini Foundation. Under Dr. Krevans' leadership, UCSF attracted many women and minority students to careers in health sciences. Dr. Krevans received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from New York University, College of Medicine and completed a residency in Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
