Mr. Brian L. Hoekstra has been the Chief Executive Officer of IA Global, Inc. since September 4, 2009. Mr. Hoekstra served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Applied Photonics Inc. since founding in September 1999 until June 2009. Before joining NASA, Mr. Hoekstra served as the Project Manager on space-based material science projects and was a leading Researcher in laser annealing at the Air Force Materials Laboratory from 1983 to 1986. Mr. Hoekstra served as a Director of Amtech Systems Inc., from February 19, 2007 to December 22, 2009. He serves as a Director of Applied Photonics, Inc. He is an affiliated member of numerous organizations including the Materials Research Society and the American Physical Society. Mr. Hoekstra is a Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy from 1977 to 1979 and was a pilot with the 64th Flying Training Wing. He qualified for the manned space flight program in 1988. He received a Bachelors of Science in Physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Optics training at the University of Rochester, in 1981 and completed Ph.D. coursework in Electro-Optics at the University of Dayton.
