In 1997, he joined ContiGroup Companies, Inc. (formerly Continental Grain Company). He joined Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. on June 20, 2005. He served as Executive Vice President and Secretary of ContiGroup Companies Inc. from September 1997 to August 2001. He served as Chief Business Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of New York Trans Harbor LLC, a privately-held ferry operation in New York City operating under the name New York Water Taxi from January 2003 to June 2005. He has been the Non-Executive Chairman and Director of Contitrade Services Corp. since July 1999. He serves as the Chairman of ContiFinancial Corp. and has been its Director since July 1999. He has been a Director of Progenics Pharmaceuticals Inc. since September 2009. He served as a Director of New York Water Taxi, PSF Group Holdings and Premium Standard Farms Inc. Mr. Baker earned his J.D. at Columbia University School of Law where he was a Stone Scholar and an A.B. degree in History and Biochemistry at Columbia College in New York.
