From 2001 to 2002, he served as Vice President and Leader of the Capital Audit Staff, and later Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GE Consumer Finance - Americas. His career has focused in the financial services arena with senior roles in GE Consumer Finance, Capital, and Equity, as well as public accounting with Thomson McLintock (U.K.) and Price Waterhouse (both in the U.S. and France). Mr. Mackay began his career in 1982 with the Aberdeen, Scotland, office of public accounting firm Thomson McLintock, KMG. He served at Price Waterhouse from 1986 to 1989 in both New York and Paris. He joined Schlumberger Limited in 1990 and served as Internal Audit, Regional Finance Director and Controller in Paris and Jakarta. He has been an Executive Director of HSBC Holdings plc since December 3, 2010. He serves as a Director of HSBC (General Partner) Limited, the General Partner of HSBC Capital Funding (Euro 2) LP, HSBC Capital Funding (Sterling 1) L.P. and HSBC Capital Funding (Euro 3) LP. He served as a Non Executive Director of Hang Seng Bank Ltd. from September 01, 2009 to December 31, 2010. He is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Mr. Mackay holds an M.A. degree in business studies and accounting in 1982 from Aberdeen University.
