Background*

Mr. Adam Fogelson served as President of Marketing & Distribution at Universal Studios, Inc. (sometimes called Universal Pictures or Universal city Studios) from October 2007 to 2009. Mr. Fogelson assumes executive oversight of Universal's domestic marketing and distribution divisions. Additionally, he supervises the marketing and distribution of Rogue Pictures, the studio's specialty genre label. He joined Universal Pictures as Vice President of Creative Advertising ... in 1998, and rose to Executive Vice President of Creative Advertising in 2002. Prior to joining Universal, he was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Trimark Pictures. Earlier, he served as Vice President of the AFA Company. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Universal Studios, Inc. He has been Chairman of Universal Pictures of Universal Studios, Inc since October 2009. Mr. Fogelson oversees worldwide operations for the motion picture group, including its global theatrical, home entertainment, partnerships & licensing, finance, human resources and communications divisions. During his career with the studio, he has worked on hits such as Despicable Me, It’s Complicated, Couples Retreat, The Incredible Hulk, The Break-Up, Wanted, Mamma Mia!, American Gangster, Knocked Up, Bruce Almighty, Seabiscuit, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, 8 Mile, Erin Brockovich, Notting Hill, Bring It On, About a Boy and all of the Meet the Parents, Bourne, American Pie and The Fast and the Furious films. He was named Entertainment Marketers of the Year by Advertising Age in 2003 for the marketing campaign of "8 Mile." He had supervising the marketing campaigns for "American Gangster" , "Charlie Wilson's War" , "Leatherheads", "Wanted" ,"The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor", "Mamma Mia!" and "Hellboy II: The Golden Army." He has also managed the marketing campaign for Universal’s Tony Award-winning smash-hit musical Wicked, which continues to sell out on Broadway and has launched hugely successful engagements across the world. His work on 2008’s diverse and highly successful slate earned him recognition from Advertising Age as Entertainment Marketer of the Year in 2009. He graduated from Stanford University in 1989, earning a BA in communications.
