Sir Robin Saxby, Ph.D. served as the Chief Executive Officer of Arm Inc. Sir Saxby served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of ARM Holdings PLC., from February 1991 and October 2001 lead to become the world’s leading semiconductor IP Company including floatation on the LSE and Nasdaq in 1998. He co-found ARM in early 1991. Dr. Saxby retired from ARM at the end of September 2007. Before ARM Holdings PLC, he served at the European Silicon Structures SA (ES2), ... where he served as a Vice President of Northern Europe, Managing Director of ES2 Limited, and President of US2. From 1984 to 1986, Dr. Saxby served as the Chief Executive Officer of Henderson Security Systems Limited and. Before that, he was with Motorola Semiconductors in a variety of sales, marketing and engineering management from 1973 to 1984. Dr. Saxby was in design and development with Rank Bush Murphy and Pye TMC. He has been the Chairman Emeritus of ARM Holdings PLC since October 1, 2006. He serves as the Chairman of Arolla Partners Ltd. He served as Founding Chairman of ARM Holdings PLC. He served as an Executive Chairman and Director of ARM Holdings PLC since October 2001. He served as the Chairman of the Open Microprocessor Initiative Advisory Group. He serves as Member of Advisory Board at Sontia Logic Limited. Dr. Saxby serves as a Member of the Strategic Advisory Board at UMIP Premier Fund. He has been a Member of the Advisory Board at XMOS, Ltd., since March 2011. Dr. Saxby served as a Senior Independent Non Executive Director of Glotel PLC until July 25, 2007. He has served as a Non Executive Director of Sirius Communications. Dr. Saxby was knighted in the 2002 New Year’s Honours List. He served as the President of The IET from 2006 to 2007, where he is still an active Fellow and Council Member. Dr. Saxby is a Faraday medalist of the IET. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Liverpool. He is a Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering and an Honary Fellow of the IET. In 2000, Dr. Saxby was awarded an honorary Doctorate D.Eng from Liverpool University and has been a visiting professor there since 1999. He was also appointed a visiting Professor to his old department of electronics at the university. In July 2001, Dr. Saxby was awarded an honorary Doctorate D.Tech from Loughborough University and Universities of Essex. He is a Chartered Engineer.
